Submission Timeline

In the event of loss, written notice of claims should be submitted to Trinity as soon as possible, but must be within an allowed period, i.e. 30 days after the occurrence.

Death claims may require immediate notice in writing.

Claim Documents Required

Claim Documents Applicable to All Claims 

Please provide the required information and documents within 30 days after returning to Hong Kong from the journey

  • Certificate of Insurance
  • Departure proof, such as air tickets, cruise ticket, boarding pass
Medical Expenses
  • Original medical receipt(s) and medical report(s) showing the exact diagnosis certified by a qualified medical practitioner
  • Letter or referral from a qualified medical practitioner for the medical treatment conducted by specialist, physiotherapist etc
Hospital Income/Loss of Income
  • Medical certificate issued by a qualified medical practitioner certifying diagnosis and length of stay with discharge summary
  • Letter from employer/company stating the insured person is under employment and the amount of wages earned during the sick leave period (applicable to loss of income) 
Loss of Baggage, Travel Documents, Money
  • Loss report issued by local Police within 24 hours after the occurrence of the incident
  • Damage report issued by the relevant authorities or organizations (e.g. police/airline/hotel etc.) within 3 days after the occurrence of the incident 
  • Photos showing the extend of damage to the property, if applicable 
  • Original purchase receipt of the lost/damaged items 
  • Copy of repair quotation for the damaged item, if applicable 
  • Compensation letter from airline/hotel/any other parties (where applicable) 
  • Original receipts for additional hotel accommodation and travel expenses, if applicable
Travel Delay, Baggage Delay
  • Documentation indicating the reason and duration of delay for travel delay or baggage delay (e.g. confirmation letter/email from common carrier)
Journey Cancellation, Red Outbound Travel Alert, Cruise
  • Original receipts issued by the relevant parties (e.g. airlines, hotel or travel agent) showing the booking date and the schedule of the original itinerary ·      
  • Documents issued by the relevant parties (e.g. airlines, hotel or travel agent) confirming the journey cancellation and the details of refunded amount/non-refundable
  • Medical certificate issued by a qualified medical practitioner indicating the diagnosis and reason that the insured is unfit for travel, if applicable
  • Death certificate, if applicable
  • Relationship proof of the insured, if applicable
  • Please notify airlines, hotel or travel agent to cancel the trip immediately and arrange the refund procedures, if applicable
Journey Re-arrangement, Curtailment
  • Original receipts issued by the relevant parties (e.g. airlines, hotel or travel agent) showing the booking date and the schedule of the original itinerary
  • Original receipts indicating the pre-paid and/or additional travel accommodation expenses incurred after the commencement of the insured journey
  • Documents issued by the relevant parties (e.g. airlines, hotel or travel agent) confirmation the rearrangement and the details of refunded amount/non-refundable
  • Documentation from common carrier or travel agent indicating the reason for journey re-arrangement
  • Medical certificate issued by a qualified medical practitioner indicating diagnosis and reason that the insured is unfit to continue the planned journey
  • Death certificate, if applicable 
  • Relationship proof of the insured, if applicable 
Personal Accident (Fatal and Permanent Disablement)
  • Relevant incident report and police report
  • Death Certificate, if applicable
  • Proof of claimant’s relationship to the Insured, if applicable
  • Medical report regarding the extent of permanent disability suffered
Personal Liability
  • Incident report issued by local police or relevant organizations (if applicable)
  • Photos of the damaged property
  • Original payment receipt of compensation for damaged items (if applicable)
  • No liability should be admitted and no settlement or promise of payment should be reached or made to the third party without our prior approval
Car Rental Excess
  • Car rental agreement
  • Comprehensive motor insurance you had purchased for the rental car
  • Damage report of the rented car
  • Photos of the damaged rental car
  • Original receipt of the rental car excess
